Rachel Ambasing

Rachel Ambasing is a second-generation Igorot-Filipina and Chinese American, born and formed in South Bay San Diego. Much of her spiritual life has been shaped by both clergy and lay leaders from St. Matthew's, where she grew up attending with her grandmother, parents, and brother. In her late 20s, Rachel attended Academy of Art University in San Francisco where she studied writing and design for multi-media, developed a love for art history, gained experience in event coordination and photo shoot production, and interned as a Fashion Marketing assistant.

Rachel believes deeply in the power of the Holy Spirit working through lay leaders. She dreams of co-creating brave spaces for folks to explore, develop, and share their unique and God-given voices, creativity and talents. Rachel also sings, plays the piano, and, on occasion, struggles to play the organ at St. Matthew's. She enjoys writing, star gazing, yoga, and meeting new people.
